Brain Injury Leadership Development:

Foundation and Application

Brain Injury Leadership Development: Foundation and Application (BILD:FA) is a year-long endeavor for clinical and administrative leaders and those who are in a position to lead more informally through staff development, team coordination, etc.  This program will develop your leadership skills, while at the same time addressing challenges to implementing best practice knowledge in neurorehabilitation. Through participating in BILD:FA, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate, learn, self-discover, and get support on your journey to leadership in neurorehabilitation. 

Program Components

Pre-course

Module 1: Onsite Workshop 

  • Pre-workshop 1:1 meeting with team mentor

  • Welcome reception with entire cohort of your colleagues

  • Two-day workshop where you'll cover:

    • Key concepts in Conscious Professionalism

    • Key principles in advanced neurorehabilitation

    • Internal/External challenges in neurorehabilitation

Modules 11 & 111: Exploring & Practicing Conscious Professionalism

You'll participate in web-based learning on selected leadership topics throughout the year.  You'll also have the opportunity to use real-world scenarios from your team to create strategy, increase mindfulness, and apply leadership principles to your setting.

EXPLORE

  • Online small group sessions, led by mentors

  • Concepts delivered via demonstration, application and integration

  • Guided scenarios that incorporate neurorehabilitation field trends, best practices, and challenges to explore leadership principles

  • Additional 1:1 time with certified leadership coach

PRACTICE

  • Application of the six essential conscious leadership commitments in daily life

  • Reflection exercises and documentation of the practice of the six commitments

  • Online monthly discussions & discussion boards
